Esoteric Bestiary — 78 Original Plates

A Journey Where Nature Meets the Ancient Wisdom of the Tarot

What happens when the 78 archetypes of the Tarot are mirrored by the animal kingdom? Esoteric Bestiary is not a traditional divination manual, nor a simple treatise on zoology. It is a visual and spiritual exploration of the connections between animal life and Tarot symbolism.

Inspired by the natural-history illustration tradition of Buffon and Audubon, this artbook presents 78 original plates. Each creature has been chosen for its biological behavior, survival strategies, and characteristics, explored alongside the esoteric meanings of the card it represents.

The Major Arcana brings together 22 creatures embodying transformation and the great cycles of experience, from the chrysalis of The Hanged Man to the celestial navigation of the Sacred Scarab. Birds represent the Suit of Swords, aquatic creatures the Suit of Cups, reptiles the Suit of Wands, and terrestrial mammals the Suit of Pentacles.

Written and illustrated by KARMEN-ITA, this collection invites you to explore the Tarot through the natural world, moving between the detail of each plate and the symbolism behind it.
